It's such a secret place...

I saw another poster comment on the overabundance of eye photos. It's true, but this one also has something to it. I love the sharp iris emerging from the wet blurry eyelashes. You really get the sense that there is sadness being expressed here, and I think the off-center placement encourages that. In fact, the composition might be my favorite part of it. Had it been smack in the middle it would have been too much like "Here's an eye!" But the landscape of the cheek, the dark shadows, feels like some vast lonely terrain to be overcome. And also, no minor detail, I like the placement of the signature.
